AHMEDABAD: After many heart breaks, Gujarat has finally got an
IPL team of their own.
Talking to TOI after successfully biding for the Rajkot team Intex director Keshav Bansal said: “Gujarat has been deprived of an IPL team for long. And I have seen the enthusiasm and the energy of the sports loving public of Gujarat, especially their liking for cricket.
We also have a huge presence in Gujarat in terms of Intex's market in the state in smart phones and consumer electronic durables. I wanted to reach out for the people of the state and what better than giving the public an IPL team which they have longed for such a long time.”
Bansal was also bowled over by the rich pool of talent that the catchment area provides and the wonderful infrastructure that the SCA had set up.
